Making history once again, the global blockbuster The Legend of Maula Jatt completed one year of non-stop screening in Pakistan. The film continues its successful run at Universal Cinemas and Centaurus Cinemas on the occasion of its first release anniversary. Cue Cinema, Lahore, and Atrium Cinemas, Karachi have made the film available once again for the audience to watch.

Since its release in October 2022 in Pakistan and the rest of the world, The Legend of Maula Jatt has gone on to rule the theatres across the world and has led to Pakistani cinema’s miraculous domination on the Subcontinent’s box office, post-COVID. Bilal Lashari, the director of the film Maula Jatt, recently won the ‘Best Filmmaker’ award for ‘The Legend of Maula Jatt’ at the Bollywood Film Festival Norway and also won Pakistan’s highest civilian awards, Sitara-i-Imtiaz for his contribution to cinema, on Pakistan’s Independence Day.

The mega-hit directed by Bilal Lahsari and produced by Ammara Hikmat became the highest-grossing film from the subcontinent in 2022. The film broke records by becoming the highest-grossing Punjabi film of all time.

Before this, the film has managed to make many other records and has many titles to its name including the highest Grossing Pakistani Film, 2nd Highest Grossing film from the Subcontinent in the UK for the year 2022 & the Most-watched South Asian film in Norway. The film after releasing in Russia brought over 13.88 million USD worldwide.

TLOMJ was released on 13 October 2022 globally in 25 different territories. With over 500 screens it is one of the biggest releases to come out of Pakistan. The film continued its release in various markets after 6 months of its release on public demand.

The Legend of Maula Jatt is the directorial masterpiece of Bilal Lashari. The film boasts an ensemble cast starring Fawad Khan, Mahira Khan, Humaima Malick, Hamza Ali Abbasi, Mirza Gohar Rasheed, Ali Azmat, Saima Baloch, and Faris Shafi alongside veterans such as Shafqat Cheema, Nayyer Ejaz, Resham, Babar Ali and Raheela Agha. Produced by Ammara Hikmat and Asad J. the movie is a hard reboot of the 1979 cult classic ‘Maula Jatt’.

The filmmakers have partnered with Geo Films as their presenting partner. The largest media group and a key contributor to the revival of cinema in Pakistan. Mandviwalla Entertainment, well known for its contribution to the cinema over the decades is a core distributer locally. MovieGoers Entertainment is contributing to the International distribution of the film.
